Some companies only run this can and report the automated vulnerabilities. That type of test and subsequent report are usually not enough to satisfy a qualified auditor. An auditor will generally want to see a penetration test that also involves manual testing and reverse engineering to get additional coverage of the application and the environment in which it is running.
